The most significant improvement is the main camera which now offers a 48MP sensor for incredible detail and clarity. This allows for greater flexibility in cropping and editing photos without losing quality. The A16 chip ensures that performance remains snappy and responsive for all daily tasks. The design has also been updated with softer edges for a more comfortable grip.
However it still uses a standard 60Hz display which may feel less fluid compared to Pro models. The base storage is also on the lower side for some power users who capture a lot of media. These limitations are balanced by the overall improvements in camera quality and connectivity options. The rating reflects a good but not perfect user satisfaction level.
We recommend this phone for those upgrading from an iPhone 12 or older who want the latest camera tech and USB-C. It is ideal for casual users who value ease of use and connectivity over high-end gaming performance. The combination of features makes it a very competitive option in the current market.

Overall it is a reliable device that offers great value for its age.
Battery life can be a drawback for heavy users compared to newer models with larger cells. The 64GB storage might fill up quickly if you take many photos or download large apps. However for standard usage it remains a solid performer. The price point makes it one of the most accessible entry points into 5G iPhone ownership.

The build quality is solid and the device fits easily into smaller pockets. This makes it a practical choice for daily tasks and calls.

It is a no-frills option that gets the job done efficiently.

The display is sharp and vivid providing a great experience for reading and light browsing. It is a true pocket rocket that does not compromise on features.
The primary trade-off is battery life which can struggle to last a full day with heavy use. The small size also limits the screen real estate for watching videos or gaming. Buying Guide – How to Choose the Best Cheap iPhone
Selecting the right iPhone on a budget involves considering several key factors beyond just the price tag.
Model Generation
Newer models like the 16e offer the latest chips and camera tech which will last longer with software updates. Older models like the 12 or SE provide significant savings while still delivering a solid iOS experience for everyday use.
Choose a newer generation if you want longevity or an older one if you need immediate value.
Storage Capacity
Storage is a critical factor because iOS and apps require space to function smoothly. If you take many photos or download large games aim for at least 128GB to avoid running out of space quickly.
Higher storage capacity ensures you do not need to manage files constantly and keeps the phone running faster.
Carrier Compatibility
Ensure the phone is unlocked and compatible with your specific carrier's network bands for the best connectivity. Check if your carrier supports 5G since some older models may be limited to 4G speeds.
Verifying compatibility before purchase prevents connectivity issues and ensures you can use your phone immediately.
Battery Health
For renewed devices always check the battery health status as this impacts how long the phone lasts on a charge. A healthy battery ensures you do not need to replace it soon after purchase which adds to the cost.
Look for devices with high battery capacity ratings to guarantee a full day of usage without frequent charging.
Screen Size
Your preference for a large or small screen affects portability and media consumption habits. Larger screens are better for watching videos and multitasking while smaller ones are easier to use one-handed.
Select a size that fits your lifestyle and how you primarily use your phone for daily tasks.
Camera Needs
If you capture lots of photos or videos look for models with advanced sensors like the 48MP on newer devices. Older models still take great photos but may lack features like Cinematic Mode or better low-light performance.
Prioritize camera specs if photography is a main function of your phone to ensure satisfaction with results.
Accessories
Consider whether you need cases or chargers as some models may not include these in the box. Having the right accessories can protect your investment and enhance your overall user experience with the device.
Budget for essential accessories early to ensure your phone is protected and ready to use out of the box.
Refurbished Warranty
Always check the warranty terms for renewed products to ensure you are protected against potential defects. A good warranty gives peace of mind that you can get a replacement if the device has issues shortly after purchase.
Choose sellers with clear return policies to safeguard your investment when buying pre-owned devices.
How to Use and Care for Your Cheap iPhone
Start by setting up your device with your Apple ID and transferring data from your old phone using the migration tools provided in settings. This ensures you have all your contacts and apps ready to go immediately.
Protect your investment by using a good quality case and screen protector to shield against drops and scratches. A case adds grip and durability which is especially important for older models.
Keep your battery healthy by avoiding extreme temperatures and not leaving it plugged in overnight regularly. Regular software updates will also keep your phone secure and running smoothly for years.
